There is far more to analysing a player than people believe. The AIFF have witnessed the impact the IPSO products have achieved on their coaches and they have now implemented parts of IPSO products into their AFC PRO, ‘‘A’’ & ‘‘B’’ licence courses. This will ensure the coaches have the attention to detail approach when looking at their players or teams. Savio Medeira Head of Coach Education at the AIFF had this to say “ Getting IPSO courses in INDIA was a great initiative. It did give a completely different perspective in scouting & analysis which was previously lacking. Breaking down scouting into detail did help our Indian coaches not only in scouting but helping them in their team selection. This was mainly important when they are stuck with a challenge of selecting a player between 2 players for a particular position in the team. During the pandemic we continued with online courses as we were not able to have onsite courses. One workshop which I would like to single out was the “Bias Workshop” . This workshop gives you a perfect understanding of having an open mind when you go for scouting. Having witnessed the impact of these courses, it did give me the confidence to move a step further and to include scouting and analysis sessions in our Diploma courses in our “B”, “A’, and “PRO’ ‘ licence courses. It will further enhance the knowledge of our coaches in these sessions during the courses. Knowing Colin and his passion and commitment towards his delivery, I am very confident that we are on the right path to educate our coaches to be better scouts and coaches. I thank IPSO and Colin in special way, for all the efforts being put in to develop Scouting in India.” That’s great coming from someone of Mr Medeira’s experience and background.

We already have other federations looking into this procedure and looking to implement the IPSO way to further educate their coaches.
