On November the 19th 2021 IPSO headed for Scotland to deliver our Level 1st team scouting course to the academy scouts of Motherwell FC. Based just out side of Glasgow the event was a great success.

The event was organised between Nick Daws Head Of Recruitment Operations at Motherwell and Colin Chambers the Head of Education at IPSO.

Having partnered up with Motherwell FC, one of the most historic top flight Scottish clubs, we were invited by Head Of Recruitment Operations Nick Daws to deliver our Level 1 course to their academy coaches in a CPD exercise to educate them in the latest trends and procedures to work in a first team environment. A fantastic weekend was had by all as the coaches mixed with IPSO students. We had a good mix of characters and personalities in the class of 20, from very experienced agents, scouts and students of the game,  making the atmosphere very optimistic and lively.

Colin Chambers the education director at IPSO said this about the event ‘‘what a great weekend! The hunger for knowledge from everyone was the highlight for me. Every single person in the room was on a mission to improve themselves and learn new skills that would help in their development and this was very clear to see. It’s great when you have people joining in and adding their experiences in the game, whether they were good or bad. There was already a wealth of knowledge in the room and the students were not shy to share their experiences. When it’s like that the course is even better and fair play to the Motherwell staff for sharing their knowledge to make the course even stronger than it already is. Having the support of Nick Daws sharing his experience and knowledge, added extra value and education for the participants.’’

As the classroom mixed and people got to know each other and network, new friendships were starting to take place.

Nick who was the instigator of the event had this to say ‘’This collaboration with IPSO is about investing in people, talent and education, whether that be our own staff at Motherwell Football Club, myself included or the students who are looking to find a pathway into professional football.  It isn’t always easy to break into a new industry or change career path, but I believe in providing continued professional development for those who have the desire to succeed.  I cannot thank Colin and IPSO enough for helping support this event,  the first of many opportunities in the future.  The strides taken by each candidate over the 2 days was a pleasure to be part of and I’m confident the Recruitment Department at our club with be beneficiaries.’’
