IPSO Deliver At The National Football Museum

IPSO were honoured to deliver the latest course in England at the famous world-wide National Football Museum in Manchester.

A group of 20 Students took part with 9 different nationalities from around the world participating. We had attendants from Turkey, Hungary, South Korea, Spain, Russia, Cyprus, England, Holland and Belgium.

As IPSO’S reputation grows around the world, we were honoured when ex Aberdeen & Holland international goal keeper Theo Snelders took part on the course. Snelders began his career with FC Twente and is mostly remembered in Scotland playing for Aberdeen. Theo had an excellent first season at Pittodrie, winning the Scottish PFA Players’ Player of the Year in 1989. He’s fondly remembered for saving Anton Rogan’s penalty in Aberdeen’s penalty shootout win over Celtic in the 1990 Scottish Cup Final. Mr Snelders fully enjoyed the experiance and said – ’’ The course teaches you to have more ‘Attention to Detail’ and how to bring structure into your reports. The museum is a great setting and a relaxed atmosphere. Congratulations IPSO”

Also in participation was world renown ‘‘SOCCEREX’’ represented by Nicola Gaiti and Denis Naydenov, Nicola commented ‘‘these have been two fantastic days spent with a group of like-minded individuals from different parts of the world, who nonetheless all had the same objective: to learn and grow in the football industry. The course gave us a great initial insight into how the mechanics of scouting work – allowing us to understand what exactly to look for and analyse when watching a football game. I would definitely recommend this course for those looking to enter the scouting sector, or even anyone simply interested in expanding their football expertise. Thank you very much for this opportunity IPSO, and hopefully see you soon for the level 2 course!”

From Belgium we had professional analyst Nicolas Still from from Sint-Truidense V.V. who play in the Belgium 1st division Nicolas said “A great insight into player scouting. A very professional training and high standard information. All of which will help each and every one get a better idea of what to look for in a player and also how to report and talk about it. Networking is one of the most important things in football at any level, and this course was a great opportunity to meet people from around the world and make connections. I look forward to getting on the Level 2 course.”

From Turkey we had Scoutium, an award winning start up project with a digital scouting platform for the fans and the professionals alike. Edip Uras, the director says: This course has been a real eye opener. It had everything a beginner or trainee scout could ever want; information, stories of experiences, a live game and a brilliant group of people. The lecturers were masters in their delivery and experiance. This is going to be ‘invaluable’ for anyone that will come through the ranks of the Scoutium system and become real scouts.

Another great weekend on the IPSO course. It was good to see young students of the game like 18 year old Jack Hullett from Todmorden West Yorkshire rubbing shoulders and gaining knowledge from all different types of experience in the room from professionals like Theo to analysts like Nicolas as well as football coaches and football agents. It just shows how diverse and knowledgeable the attendants are coming on to the courses.

These courses are not just to become a football scout but to improve and enlighten anyone’s knowledge within football.
