When we last stayed in England, we had a chance to look behind the walls of Manchester City Football Academy, which is believed to be the most modern in the world.

“The Citizens” opened its doors in December last year. It’s absolutely unique, equipped with the latest technology, it was an investment that cost “only” 200 million pounds. Within the academy there are 16 pitches that are irrigated by a specially built underground tank with a capacity of 8.1 million litres. Also, they built a stadium for 7000 seats, where Manchester City youth team as well as the women’s team play.

“There is also some special pitches for children’s training for goalkeepers and a pitch surrounded by walls, where their set-pieces are practiced. Weather conditions impact is limited to a minimum. In addition, there are swimming pools, medical centres and all the other wonders that you can imagine. Those are ideal conditions to educate a professional footballer from A to Z,” said Kamil Potrykus, managing director of IPSO.

“We had the opportunity to see Colin Hendry perform on the pitch, he was our special guest of the March edition of the scouting course held in Sopot. Former Scotland captain played in the Football Aid charity match in 2015, which took place on the main pitch of the City Football Academy, proving that he is still in great shape,” Potrykus added.
